POTOCKI Vodka

Potocki Vodka traces its origins back in 1816 when the founder Alffred I Potocki inherited the splendid Łańcut Castle which included Poland's second oldest distillery. Łańcut is located halfway between Krakow and Lvov.

Alfred I Potocki hired specialists to improve quality and increase production capacity. In 1838 he introduced liqueurs and cordials for which the Łańcut distillery quickly achieved notoriety. In 1857 it obtained the special privilege to become a purveyor to the imperial court in Vienna.

Potocki Wódka today is distilled at a small facility surrounded by fields and forests, and it is known for its artisanal approach. Rye is sourced from the fields surrounding the distillery, while the mash is only twice distilled - as every additional run would unnecessarily strip the alcohol of its character.

The distillate is tasted at regular intervals, and only selected when optimum criteria are reached. The resulting pure alcohol is watered down to the required strength and tasted again by Jan-Roman Potocki and the master distiller. The vodka is left to rest for a few days and then bottled without resorting to the customary charcoal filtration.

The taste is soft and slightly sweet at first, with a rich, creamy texture that envelops the mouth. In the finish, it is turning into a long dry finish with nutty notes, the trademark taste of Polish rye vodka.

For ten generations, the Nolet family in Schiedam, Netherlands has been distilling the finest hand made spirits using techniques and recipes perfected by Joannes Nolet and his successors since 1691. MIDORI MELON Liqueur

Midori is a bright, green-coloured, muskmelon-flavored cordial made by Suntory. It is manufactured in Japan, Mexico and France, though it was made only in Japan until 1987. It was first concocted in 1978, with a launch party held in New York's famous Studio 54.

The name comes from midori, the Japanese word for "green".

As it is extremely sweet, Midori is generally used in a mixed drink or cocktail; for example, a Japanese slipper. It is usually used in a range of long drinks - with lemonade, fresh lemon juice, lime juice, pineapple juice or orange juice. Sour flavours are often used to balance its sweetness.

Kahlúa is a Mexican coffee-flavored rum-based liqueur. It is dense and sweet, with the distinct taste of arabica coffee, from which it is made. Kahlúa also contains sugar, corn syrup and vanilla bean.

Pedro Domecq began producing Kahlúa in 1936. It was named Kahlúa, meaning "House of the Acolhua people" in the Veracruz Nahuatl language spoken before the Spanish Conquest. Such a name choice was presumably chosen to provide a Veracruzan identity to the product and feature its originality. (Kahlúa was Hispanicized as Ulúa, forming the name of modern San Juan de Ulúa fortress.)

10 CANE Rum

10 Cane is named after the tradition of hand-harvesting and bundling sugarcane stalks in groups of ten. 10 Cane is produced in Trinidad from the first pressing of sugarcane. Most rums use molasses, a by-product of sugar manufacturing. 10 Cane's distillation process is overseen by Jean Pineau, the Master Distiller of Moët Hennessy. Pineau employs what has been described as an "artisanal" approach to rum making, particularly through small batch production process and high ingredient quality standards.

10 Cane rum is slowly fermented for five days at a low temperature, double-distilled in small batches in French pot stills, and finally aged in French oak barrels for ten months. This aging process gives 10 Cane its light golden color. 10 Cane Rum is one of the few rums focused on ingredients and primary production stages rather than maturation.

Hine Antique XO Premier Cru is a blend of more than 40 cognacs sourced from Grande Champagne - the finest cognac cru - and all aged for a minimum of 10 years. Antique was first created by George Hine in 1920 and nearly a centuary later, is hailed as one of Hine's signature styles.

Only the finest young wines end up creating Antique; carefully and slowly distilled in classic pot stills, the resulting cognac was left to develop in Limousin oak barrels. STRANAHAN'S COLORADO WHISKEY

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is a 94 proof, small-batch whiskey distilled in Denver, Colorado. Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is the first microdistillery making whiskey in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains as well as one of the first in the country. Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is the first of a new category known as "Rocky Mountain Straight Whiskey".[citation needed]

The whiskey is made from a unique four-barley fermented wash that consists of carbon filtered Rocky Mountain water and western barley that is grown in the Northern Rockies. The wash is distilled in a Vendome Copper custom-made combination Pot / Column still and then aged in 50 gallon heavily charred (#4 char), American white oak whiskey barrels made by World Cooperage in Lebeanon, Missouri. The barrels age for between two and five years in a humidified, climate controlled environment. Ten to twelve barrels are combined to make each batch consisting of 2500-3000 bottles. Each bottle is filled by hand and each label is hand written identifying the distiller, batch number, the youngest barrel in the batch and a unique comment.

Stranahan's is named after former minority owner, educator and activist George Stranahan, who also owns the Flying Dog Brewery formerly of Denver, currently located in Maryland. Jess Graber, retired firefighter, was the majority partner and founder of the company. Since the sale to Proximo, he will "continue working with the company to maintain quality control and as brand ambassador". Head distiller and production manager Jake Norris was also a part owner and co-founder of the company.

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey won the Gold medal in the malt whiskey division of the 2008 American Distillers Institute in Louisville, Kentucky as well as the over all Best of Show. Other awards include Westword's Best of Denver 2008 and 2009, The Malt Advocate Magazines Pioneer of the year 2008, and Jim Murray's 2008 Whiskey Bible named SCW The Best Small Batch Distilled Whiskey in the World.

Stranahan's is no longer independently owned, as it was sold to Proximo Beverage Corporation. Details on the sale and what the structure of the brand will look like have yet to be released.
