VIEUX CARRE Absinthe

The French Quarter, locally known as Vieux Carré, is the soul of New Orleans, Louisiana. Philadelphia Distilling honors the unique and colorful history of absinthe in New Orleans with the release of Vieux Carré Absinthe Supérieure. It is the first absinthe to be distilled, bottled, and sold on the east coast of the United States in nearly 100 years. Batch distilled in a custom copper pot still using a double maceration process, Vieux Carré is an original artisan spirit that combines historic methods with a modern expertise. Grande Wormwood, Green Anise, and Fennel Doux Provence, the "Holy Trinity" of traditional absinthe, are forward in the flavor profile. The complexity of the flavor is contributed to with subtle uses of Star Anise, Genepi, Melissa, Hyssop and Spearmint. 100% all natural herbs are used in both flavoring and coloring.
In 2009 Vieux Carré won Gold Medal on San Francisco World Spirit Competiton.
